1. What is TWB?
The Writers Block (TWB) is a division of Amatra Consulting Pvt. Ltd. and was founded in 2005 with the main objective of providing world-class Technical Documentation Outsourcing and Training Services to suit the demands of Indian technology companies. Organizations need TWB’s services if:
they do not have enough resources to take care of documentation requirements;
they do not have the right resources to turn out the quality of documentation that their global customers expect.
TWB helps individuals train themselves to become better professionals and helps companies match the quality of their written word with the high quality of the software they produce.
2. What is technical documentation?
Technical documentation is a process whereby technical and specialized information about fields as diverse as computer hardware and software, manufacturing, finance, biotechnology, life sciences and consumer electronics is disseminated. Technical documents range from online documents and online help to hard copy manuals and quick start guides. Technical documentation enables an understanding of a product and provides a quick source for looking up specific details that are not immediately obvious to the user. Therefore, as with any writing, the audience is at the centre of technical documentation, which entails the translation of technical ideas into words that the intended audience will understand.

4. What does it take to create technical documents?
Technical documents are created by technical writers. A good technical writer is someone who has a good knowledge of English, is comfortable working with computers, can understand a subject/solution/product and describe the information in a simple way for the right readers. A working knowledge of particular software such as Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe RoboHelp, XML etc. are necessary for creating technical documents along with a sense of graphic design

8. What is TWB Online?
The Writers Block(TWB) is making a foray in to the world of distance learning through TWB Online. It is the first Indian company to provide an e-learning course exclusively on technical writing. It provides students greater flexibility by allowing them to train at their own pace in their free time without missing out on the TWB Experience synonymous with the TWB classroom programs. The rationale behind offering a technical writing course online is the accessibility it offers to potential students from different parts of the country and also abroad. Anybody with access to a computer with Internet connection can enroll for this course. TWB believes that offering a distance-learning program would help them provide the TWB Experience, which may not be possible by having franchise training centers.
9. What is TWB OnCampus?
TWB OnCampus is TWB’s placement program. It is a first of its kind in the field of technical writing in India and allows all successful candidates of the TWB certification programs to participate in placements from companies hiring directly from TWB. TWB OnCampus marks a step towards the institutionalization and strengthening of the technical writing value chain that has been initiated and developed by TWB since 2005. TWB OnCampus aims to provide its graduates with the best placement options with top IT companies.

TWB Alumni is an active community of former TWB students. The Alumni, through the medium of blogs, mailing lists and other formal and informal media, keep each other informed about the latest trends and developments in the field of technical writing. 11. What is TWB Mentorship?
The TWB Mentorship program has been created specifically for the purpose of providing support and mentoring to students even after their course is over. TWB Mentorship enables TWB graduates to get support in terms of domain knowledge and related assistance for at least a period of three months after their graduation.
