Indian defense and aerospace industry is on a major growth trajectory. On one hand India is deemed as the fastest growing economy for air travel. In the next two decades air travel is expected to grow at a rate of 7.7 percent as against the global growth rate of 4.7 percent. Airspace infrastructure, which includes airport equipment and machinery, faces a huge deficit that needs to be addressed, by the aerospace industry. According to the Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies & Industries, the India needs civil aircraft is worth USD 20 billion in next ten years. Airport infra-structure worth USD 3.5 billion required during the current decade, whereas the maintenance market including spares currently is estimated to be at USD 100 million annually. On the other hand military aviation in India is witnessing a distinctive and determining transformation. The military aerospace market is valued over USD 150 billion for the 20 years. There are over 5000 companies in defense manufacturing in India.

In the backdrop of these market developments, TWB - Technocraft documentation offerings will fulfill the void in the market for specialized technical documentation. This collaboration provides a strong institutional service base to companies in aerospace and defense and also offers extensive re-usable components. TWB and Technocraft jointly deliver a portfolio of solutions, which include technical documentation, interactive technical and training manuals, courseware and program management consulting. Through this collaboration TWB and Technocraft are able to deliver part catalogs, maintenance plans, manuals and training data on time and within budget.

In the context of Indian aerospace and documentation sectors, the need for technical documentation is growing steadily since documentation constitutes nearly 15 percent of product development life cycle.  The need for good documentation in high technology industries has always been acute, while there has been a traditional shortage of documentation talent and availability of institutional help. Increasing product complexity and localization for global markets are key factors driving need for high-quality technical documentation solutions.

Commenting on the collaboration, Rakesh Shukla, Managing Director, TWB said, “The developments in the aerospace and defense present an unprecedented opportunity and TWB is excited to partner with Technocraft to tap this opportunity”.  Talking about the collaboration, Ms Svetlana Chohan, President of Technocraft mentioned, “TWB is the best in class in technical documentation, not only in India but also globally and Technocraft is proud to engage with TWB. Technical publications and training are developed concurrently with customers’ product design thus minimizing the risk of delayed product launches. Extensive use of high-quality product graphics ensures improved knowledge transfer, reduced language translation costs, and shortened global product rollout times. Products are built on open standards, which will allow companies to switch applications seamlessly and conform to industry standards like MIL-STD-13881A Logistic Support analysis, MIL-STD-13882B Logistic Support Analysis Record, MIL-STD1390 Level of Repair,  MIL-HDBK-59B (CALS standard), MIL-PRF-28001 (SGML).
